Both players had a team option in their contracts that could be exercised until July 15th. Panathinaikos chose not to extend the deals.
Matt Thomas joined Panathinaikos Athens in the middle of the 2022-23 season. He will have to search for a new team now.
The Greek club has officially announced that it's parting ways with the shooting guard. Thomas had signed a two-year deal with Panathinaikos but the second season in the deal was a team option that was not exercised.
After joining the team in January, Thomas managed to play 10 games in the EuroLeague and averaged 8.1 points and 2 rebounds for 6.7 PIR. Thomas didn't get to play in the Greek League due to the foreigner limit.

The same situation that took place with Thomas happened to Dimitris Agravanis as well. The team had an option until July 15th to continue the partnership but the right was not exercised as well.
Agravanis, meanwhile, played in only four games in the EuroLeague, averaging 0.8 points and 2.5 rebounds for -1.5 PIR.
