Oklahoma City Thunder recorded 12 steals in the first half of Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers, setting a new all-time NBA Finals record for the most first-half steals in the play-by-play era.
The Oklahoma City Thunder were unable to protect their home-court advantage in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, falling to the Indiana Pacers 111–110 after a dramatic game-winner by Tyrese Haliburton.
Despite the loss, the Thunder set an all-time NBA Finals record by recording the most steals in a first half during the play-by-play era.
OKC’s defense was relentless early, forcing Indiana into 19 turnovers in the first two quarters. However, one of the key reasons the Thunder couldn’t pull away was their inability to convert those takeaways into points.

Oklahoma City managed just 9 points off Indiana’s 19 first-half turnovers, which allowed the Pacers to stay within reach, trailing only 57–45 at halftime.
The Thunder led for nearly the entire game and held a 15-point advantage in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hold on, ultimately falling to a clutch bucket in the final seconds.
Game 2 of the Finals will be played on Sunday in Oklahoma City.
