The Miami Heat have been floated as a hypothetical trade partner for the Phoenix Suns in a proposed deal that would send Kevin Durant to Miami in exchange for Terry Rozier, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, the No. 20 pick, and a 2030 first-rounder.

Five NBA teams—the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New York Knicks—have all shown interest in trading for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

While Durant reportedly prefers a move to the Spurs, Phoenix is likely to prioritize whichever trade offer benefits them the most.

With that in mind, Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley suggested a potential trade between the Miami Heat and Suns:

Kevin Durant

MIN: 36.53
PTS: 26.56 (60.27%)
REB: 6.03
As: 4.24
ST: 0.81
BL: 1.24
TO: 3.06
GM: 62

Miami Heat receive:

  • Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns receive:

  • Terry Rozier
  • Duncan Robinson
  • Nikola Jovic
  • No. 20 draft pick
  • 2030 first-round pick (top-three protected)

If this trade happens, Miami would form a new "Big 3" of Durant, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo.

"Durant could be a true fortune-changer," Buckley wrote. "Herro looked over his skis as a primary scorer, but he'd be incredibly hard to handle as a second option. Plus, Durant's gravitational pull as a three-level scorer would help generate cleaner finishing chances for Adebayo."

However, the Heat are approaching a potential deal cautiously, only willing to pursue Durant if the price is right, according to the Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson.

Earlier this season, Miami reportedly offered Jimmy Butler to the Suns in exchange for Durant at the trade deadline.

Durant, who will turn 37 this September, averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season. He has one year remaining on his contract and is set to earn $54.7 million next season.

The Suns are expected to move Durant within the coming weeks.
